I would love her blessing on this project, since this was written as a love story to her. More than that, though, she also needs to be willing to play herself in a cameo role in the film.
Laura Benanti
The lead role of Lizzy was written for actress Laura Benanti to play. So I need to get her on board since this was written as a starring vehicle for her.

Synopsis:
SEEKING FRAULEIN MARIA

Elizabeth Wells (Lizzy) is a 43-year old, recently divorced mom of two. A stay-at-home mom for most of her life, when her husband of twenty years leaves her to marry his amazing drag-queen lover, Lizzy finds herself in an emotional funk. Working retail for minimum wage with a boss nearly half her age, juggling her children’s busy schedules, mourning the loss of her marriage, and navigating the challenges of life on her own, Lizzy finds emotional escape by obsessively watching the films of Julie Andrews, her childhood idol. When she finds out, through her best friend Caroline, that Julie Andrews will be in town, Lizzy is pulled out of her funk and into a quest to find and meet her heroine, fully convincing herself that if she could just meet Julie Andrews, all her problems will be solved. As her obsession for Julie Andrews movies becomes an obsession to meet Mary Poppins herself, Lizzy’s life unravels further. Will she find Fraulein Maria, or will her obsession with Julie Andrews cause her to, instead, lose everyone else?
